Mouth of the Cave

This is a photo of the mouth of Thurston Lava Tube. At one time,
Kilauea erupted & lava came flowing out. It flowed through this area
melting everything in its path. What is left here from that is a giant
tube that you can stand up in and walk through.

Plumes from Kilauea

It was very overcast when this shot was taken but you can still see
the hot plumes of gases coming from the caldera.

Into the Caldera

Here is a look directly into the caldera at Kilauea. They kept us at a
safe distance but the next shot will show the plumes of gases coming
from the caldera.

Falls.

Crashing Waves at Kealakekua Bay

These are the waves at Kealakekua Bay. Across the Bay is where Captain
Cook's Monument stands.

Coffee Plant @ Kona Joe's

We took the tour at Kona Joe's and mentioned to the owner that we were
off to lunch so she gave us some fresh cut watermelon, papaya, white
pineapple and blueberries before we headed off. So ono-licious!
